Merryman Barnes Architects Inc. was founded in 1992 by three trailblazing women as the first 100% female-owned architecture firm in Portland, Oregon. Decades and an ownership transition later, we are still 100% women-owned and delighted to carry the torch forward.  

While the design and performance of our projects is always of the utmost concern, the people we work with are equally important. Go on, get to know us!

Amy has been in the industry for over 20 years and is an expert idea generator, Jane of all trades, project manager, and big picture thinker. With past experience in the design-build industry, Amy brings a unique perspective and an eye for constructability to all that she does. When she’s not at work, you can find Amy practicing yoga, working on her home, and spoiling her dog.

While they have retired, we are proud to have Nancy Merryman, Linda Barnes, and Doug Benson with us as Emeritus Principals. After 28 years of remarkable and ongoing service to the Architecture industry, the Emeritus Principals are still part of the team, providing valuable project knowledge and business wisdom to the MBA 2.0 team. We are grateful for their support.
