Owned by the Marion County Housing Authority, Wood Park Terrace is a 52-unit affordable housing community located in Woodburn, Oregon. Designed as a campus with families in mind, the project includes a community room, laundry facilities and a separate early childhood learning center. The 52 units are spread over 9 buildings, which are designed in a scale that feels humane and inviting. The porches, patios, eave brackets, colors, details, and overall building massing bring an appealing richness to the experience of the buildings. While simple in form, variation in the buildings’ material composition break down their scale and enliven the development. This project received a Governor’s Livability Award, in recognition of projects that support Oregon’s quality development objectives.
